eng-AGE was a joyous celebration of connection, creativity, and community. Filmed by Elton Mulally, this video captures the warmth and energy of an exhibition marking a year-long residency that brought together residents of Trustus Senior Care, Transition Year students from Kingswood Community College, and the young children of Blossoms Crèche in Kilnarden.
As part of the project, artist Ciarna Hackett (Kiki Na Art) created bold artwork that was placed guerrilla-style across Dublin a vivid public statement of visibility, celebrating older people, some pieces were held back for the exhibition. Ria Ridge's photographs captured the residents in vivid neon bright, bold, and utterly present.
The event was a true meeting of generations filled with dancing, singing, and shared joy, beautifully captured by videographer Mary Guinan. The exhibition was made unforgettable by 78-year-old resident Ken Cooper, who stepped out of a 50-year retirement to take to the decks and DJ the celebration.
